meet chaz hixen
What differentiates a company? Leadership.
A Cleveland-native, Chaz Hixen moved to Columbus in 2002 to pursue his dreams and become an expert Accounting and Finance Recruiter. You may be asking yourself, ‘Hold up. Who graduates high school with the aspirations of recruiting?’ Okay no, but he did move to Columbus to attend the Ohio State University and earn a degree in Accounting. After college, Chaz stayed in Columbus working for a large regional public accounting firm within assurance where he assisted large, privately held and publicly traded companies with external audit, financial statement reviews, and M&A due diligence.
After working within public accounting for a few years, Chaz decided it was time for a change. In 2008, Chaz joined a large recruiting agency where he was introduced to the accounting and finance talent acquisition industry. He has been a recruiter ever since! Since transitioning from public accounting, Chaz has applied his knowledge and network within accounting and finance to each retained, direct hire or interim search he works on.

Steve’s goal is to create a positive experience working with a Recruiter for his candidates and clients. He builds strong connections with a genuine and authentic approach, not sales tactics. Steve grew up in Cleveland and is a die-hard Cleveland sports fan, and is always willing to share his dream of a Brown’s Super Bowl victory “next year” if you’ll listen. He joined Dave & Chaz in 2014 and has been recruiting accounting & finance professionals ever since. Over his 9-year recruiting career Steve has become an expert in making strong matches between strong professionals and great local & national companies.

Dave, a Youngstown native, graduated from Youngstown State with his Bachelor’s in Accounting in 2011. He relocated to Columbus and began his career with a regional Public Accounting firm as an Auditor before joining Chaz and Steve in the recruiting world in January 2014. Dave uses his accounting background to help guide professionals in their careers and find the best short and long-term fit. He enjoys building lasting relationships with his candidates and clients and prides himself on providing honest and candid feedback while trying to break the negative stereotypes of the recruiting industry.
Dave focuses in the accounting, finance, tax, and audit space and enjoys being an expert in the industry. He has recently leveraged his relationships in the HR space to complete various searches for HSG clients as well. In his free time, he can be found enjoying the outdoors with his wife, son, and dog.
